About Border Collies

What kind of breed is the Border Collie?

Border Collies are considered the most intelligent dog breed in the world, originally bred as herding dogs. They have exceptional athletic ability and learning capacity, with an active and loyal temperament. They require appropriate exercise and mental stimulation.

Are they suitable for first-time dog owners?

Border Collies have high intelligence and exercise needs, making them generally more suitable for experienced dog owners. However, we provide thorough support for first-time owners, so please feel free to contact us.

How much exercise do they need?

A minimum of one hour of exercise per day is recommended. In addition to walks, activities that provide mental stimulation such as ball games and agility are ideal.

Purchasing a Puppy

How much do puppies cost?

Puppy prices start from 500,000 yen. Prices vary by coat color and sex. Please contact us for details.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept bank transfer, credit card (contactless payment available), and on-site payment.

When can I bring my puppy home?

Puppies can be picked up after 56 days of age, following a veterinary health check. This complies with Japan's Animal Welfare Act minimum age requirement.

What is the waiting list?

It is a registration system for upcoming litters. Once registered, you will be notified with priority when puppies are born.

Health & Genetic Testing

What genetic tests do you perform?

All parent dogs undergo 15 genetic tests covering CEA, TNS, CL, MDR1, DM, and other major hereditary conditions relevant to Border Collies. See our Health Testing page for full details.

Are test results publicly available?

Yes, all parent dog test results are published on their individual profile pages. Transparency is our highest priority.

Do you test the puppies as well?

Since we never breed carrier to carrier, the risk of puppies developing genetic conditions is zero. Individual puppy testing is available upon request.

Visiting

Can I visit the kennel?

Yes, we welcome visits by appointment. In addition to in-person visits, we also offer online tours via FaceTime and Zoom.

Can I interact with the puppies during a visit?

For infection prevention, we ask visitors to cooperate with shoe disinfection upon arrival. Depending on the puppies' age and health condition, interaction is generally possible during visits.
